Water quality

On a weekly basis, water samples are taken at thirteen strategic points in the network. These samples are sent to an independent laboratory for analysis and the results are forwarded to the Pierrefonds-Roxboro filtration plant authorities, Dollard-des-Ormeaux Public Works and the Québec Ministry of the Environment. As soon as an anomaly is detected, corrective measures are taken and the residents are notified either through the media, an eNews, a notice or a phone message via our automated calling system.

We care about the quality of our drinking water! If you have any doubts regarding the water quality, call us immediately at 514-684-1034. Unusual water flows in the street or the sound of continuously running water in your home may be signs of a water main break. If you see or hear either of these warning signs, call us at the number indicated above.

Water supply and fluoridation

The water supply from the Pierrefonds/Roxboro plant is not fluoridated while the water from the Pointe-Claire plant is.

The Pierrefonds Water Treatment Plant provides water to most residences and businesses of Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

The Pointe-Claire facility supplies water to the area bounded by the following streets:

  • North of the limit with the City of Pointe-Claire
  • South of De Salaberry
  • East of Somerset
  • West of Iberville

Drinking Water Conservation

In keeping with the Québec Government’s Strategy for water conservation, the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux would like to raise awareness of the value of water and reduce the use of this precious resource.
