STUDENT POSITION
ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN IN ARBORICULTURE
SUMMER 2024

 

The City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux wishes to recruit a student, who will be returning as a full time student in the Fall 2024 session.

 

Tasks

  • Patrol the city’s territory to enforce the trees By-law;
  • Check the condition of the trees and plants as well as their structural and environmental conditions;
  • Answer residents for any questions on urban forestry;
  • Follow up on various arboriculture contract: planting, grubbing, TreeAzin, arboricultural work;
  • Participate in private and public trees inventory;
  • Perform data entry
  • Follow up with contactors working for the arboriculture division;
  • Prepare technical documents for the inspectors and contractors;
  • Participate in events in connection with forestry industry.

Qualifications required

Qualifications

  • Collegial or University studies in related field
  • Driver’s permit
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bilingualism essential – French and English, spoken and written

Employment status

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday from 6 h 45 to 15 h (Friday 11 h 45)
  • From April 29 to August 30, 2024
  • 35 hours per week
  • Hourly salary $20.14
