3 Consecutive Ecological Saturdays in the City

Starting May 4 and on three consecutive Saturdays, the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux is organizing three events with an ecological theme. The first is the Ecology and Gardening Day, the second is Compost Distribution, and the third is the Giant Yard Sale.

The Ecology and Gardening Day will be held on Saturday, May 4 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Centennial Park. The City will sell flats of begonias, marigolds and petunias for $3. Residents will also be able to obtain advice and purchase other gardening products at the various guest booths. About 900 boxes will be sold during the day.

Compost distribution will take place on Saturday, May 11, between 9 a.m. and noon, in the parking lot of the Civic Centre. The City will provide each household with two bags of compost to feed their summer plantations. This initiative seeks to encourage composting at home and reward homeowners for their collection efforts throughout the year.

The Giant Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, May 18 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Civic Centre and throughout the city. In order to reduce the amount of waste they produce, residents will sell their items so that they can find a new life with others. A map will be available on the City's website showing the addresses of the residences participating in this Giant Yard Sale.

The City is proud to organize these green initiatives. It encourages residents to become aware of these issues and to be part of their City’s sustainable development.
