The City’s Excellent Online Services Recognized by the RIMQ

The city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux was awarded the Prix Excellence - Défi Municipal by The Réseau d'information municipale du Québec (RIMQ) for its new system for obtaining overnight parking permits online.

The evaluation criteria for the Prix Excellence - Défi Municipal were the innovative and original nature of the project; its cost/benefit ratio and positive impacts; its potential for reuse in other organizations; and its positive impact on municipal management. The system has been able to respond exceptionally well to each criterion.

The online permit system was created by the Information Systems Department, the Urban Planning Department and the Municipal Patrol. The project lasted only four weeks, and the system went live on our website in April 2018. To date, more than 20,000 permits have been granted through it, reducing the workload of both the Urban Planning Department and the Municipal Patrol. Approximately 345 hours of work are saved each year.

Our mayor, Alex Bottausci, is very pleased to know that the program has been so well received by its residents. He is proud to receive this recognition from the RIMQ. "Our City is committed to continuing to develop innovative tools to effectively meet the needs of our residents. I warmly thank the teams of each department involved for their exceptional work. »

In the coming years, the City hopes to add more types of online permits through this same system.
