Honouring athletes Sara Jane Daigle and Alanna Kraus in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Dollard-des-Ormeaux, April 9, 2019 – The City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux honoured
Ms Sara Jane Daigle, athlete in the Special Olympics and Ms. Alanna Kraus, former Olympian and coach for the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Speed Skating Club, on April 9 during the public council session at City Hall.

Ms. Daigle has been an athlete since she was 21 years old and was competing in events since she was eight years old. Her love of sports, especially swimming, led her to the 2019 World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, where she won three gold medals for Canada. We are proud to honour this resident of Dollard-des-Ormeaux and wish her the best in her future competitions.

Ms. Kraus is also an athlete. Her sport is speed skating. She started in the sport at four years old. She competed in the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Games, winning a bronze and silver medal, respectively. Since moving from Calgary to the West-Island, she has used her skills to give back to her new community as a coach for the Dollard-des-Ormeaux Speed Skating Club.

The City pays tribute to these athletes for their achievements and has invited them to sign the Golden Book. Their sporting and personal achievements motivate our entire community.
