Mayor's Message: even during Easter or Passover, do not gather!

To the communities celebrating Easter and Passover,

I would like to offer my warmest wishes for a happy, safe and healthy Easter and Passover, to you and all your loved ones.

Although these occasions are usually filled with celebrations and family and friend gatherings, I urge all residents to remain in their own homes during these occasions and to comply to the government guidelines of social distancing. Visits are not permitted at any time!

The city is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary measures to ensure that we contain the spread of COVID-19.

The SPVM announced that it will intensify measures to ensure compliance with a ban on indoor and outdoor gatherings. Violators will be sanctioned immediately for failure to comply with government decrees. Offenders will be subject to a fine of between $1,000 and $6,000 under the Public Health Act.

We all have a social responsibility towards our more vulnerable population. Please, I urge all residents to respect the directives of health authorities and the government at all times.

Thank you all for your collaboration and Happy Holidays!

Your mayor,
Alex Bottausci
