Fitness room and courses

The Aquatic Centre’s fitness room is equipped with a variety of cardio and strength training equipment including stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair masters, weight machines and free weights.

To use the fitness room, citizens either pay per visit, purchase a 10 pass card, or sign up for a membership, valid for 1,3, 6 or 12 months. It is mandatory that residents of Dollard-des-Ormeaux show proof of address to benefit from the reduced rate.

Please note that the fitness room is reserved to those aged 18 years and over.

We offer a wide variety of fitness classes so that all our participants can choose a program that meets their needs and fitness levels. For the first time ever, we are offering group fitness classes during the summer in our air-conditioned studio. Please consult schedule below. Please note that all our classes may not be offered each session.

COURSES

Bender Ball
Bender Ball consists of a variety of abdominal, core and Pilates-type exercises. This class covers it all; strength training, core and abdominal work.
It will strengthen the back and the all body to obtain maximum core stability while improving your posture for healthier lifestyle.

Body Blast
Cardio warm-up, muscle conditionig and core training. Strenghten and tone your upper and lower body using free weights, bands, balls and steps.

Cardio Core
This class will surely challenge your cardiovascular capacity, while toning your core muscles. This intermediate/advanced workout combines 45 minutes of cardiovascular conditionning followed by 15 minutes of core training.

Conditioning
This is a total body conditioning class that uses weight bearing training with controlled movements in order to work on strengthening and toning your muscles. The instuctor will guide you through posture awareness and breathing methods to provide individuals with more energy.

Country Fusion
Country Fusion is a new fitness workout that incorporates country music and dance. This class combines dance, flexibility and correct posture alignment while fusing together aspects of country, latin, hip hop, jazz and swing dance styles.

Essentrics
Dynamic full body program designed to rebalance the entire body through simultaneous stretching and strengthening.

Gentle Tone
For all levels! This class is divided in 4 segments; warm up, toning, balancing and abs and relaxation. We will use, weight, elastics, balls, gliders and our own body weight. Exercises will be taken from weight training, pilates, yoga and more.

HIIT
This class involves repeated short period of intense activity followed by varied recovery. Each workout is unique and challenging while being fun and rewarding.

Pilates
Build strength, increase energy, and improve posture, flexibility, core stability and range of motion. This class offers a wide variety of non-stressful exercises in combination with specific breathing and relaxation techniques for all levels.

Pilates Core
This class offers exercise to build core stability and flexibility. Improves posture and energy.

Stretch & Flex
All levels, all body types. This class is designed to release tension and tightness from all major muscle groups. Through breath and motion we will stretch the muscles to create greater flexibility and mobility.

Tabata
The ultimate high intensity interval training which incoporates cardio and strength training exercises in 20 second intervals. The perfect way to obtain maximum benefits in a short period of time.

Yoga
This class focuses on functional fitness while incorporating your mind, body and spirit. Discover the benefits of yoga with stretching exercises, poses, postures and breathing techniques. Improve your strength, flexibility, posture as well as your balance.

Zumba
Burn calories while having a blast! Zumba fitness classes incorporate Latin and International dance steps to music (salsa, samba, and meringue) for a fun cardiovascular and muscular workout.
