Its pollen is a major cause of seasonal allergies in Quebec. It can be recognized by its finely serrated leaves. If you come into contact with poison ivy, it is important to act quickly to minimize the risk of a skin reaction.<\/p>

  1. Immediately wash the skin with warm water and soap, ideally within minutes of contact.<\/li>
  2. Clean your hands and under your fingernails to remove all traces of sap.<\/li>
  3. Wash contaminated clothing and items (shoes, tools, etc.) with water and detergent.<\/li>
  4. Avoid scratching if a rash develops. Cold compresses can help relieve itching.<\/li><\/ol>
