The City is pleased to announce the addition of a self-contained, eco-friendly washroom at Teresa-Dellar Alouette Park. This new facility is part of the City’s ongoing efforts in sustainable development and provides a practical, accessible, and environmentally friendly solution for park visitors.
Unlike traditional washrooms, this facility operates without water, sewer connections, electricity, or chemicals. Its self-contained design significantly reduces resource consumption. A solar panel provides the energy needed for continuous ventilation and automatic LED lighting, allowing the facility to operate independently.
Continuous ventilation accelerates the evaporation of liquids and the drying of solids, helping to reduce unpleasant odours and the frequency of servicing required.
The facility is also designed to be accessible and easy to use, with features such as a sliding door, ergonomic seat, and support bar.
Teresa-Dellar Alouette Park, with its charming picnic area ideal for small gatherings with neighbours, friends, or family members, deserved an amenity that would enhance the comfort and experience of its visitors. With its beautiful, mature trees, spacious green areas, and peaceful atmosphere, the park is truly a neighbourhood gem.
