Fitness room and courses

The Aquatic Centre’s fitness room is equipped with a variety of cardio and strength training equipment including stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair masters, weight machines and free weights.

To use the fitness room, citizens either pay per visit, purchase a 10 or 20 pass card, or sign up for a membership, valid for 1, 3, 6 or 11 months. It is mandatory that residents of Dollard-des-Ormeaux show proof of address to benefit from the reduced rate.

Please note that the fitness room is reserved to those aged 18 years and over.

We offer a wide variety of fitness classes so that all our participants can choose a program that meets their needs and fitness levels. For the first time ever, we are offering group fitness classes during the summer in our air-conditioned studio. Please consult schedule below. Please note that all our classes may not be offered each session.


This class incorporates elements of general strength training, cardio and core strengthening.  In this class, you will develop endurance and muscle tone. The body design class offers you a complete workout! Open to all levels. 

An interval training class that combines body weight exercises with cardio and strength training.  For all levels.

A high interval boxing based workout. 30 seconds of high intensity boxing alternated with lower body cardio.  This workout is sure to target all your muscles and challenge your entire body.  All levels welcome.

This class will surely challenge your cardiovascular capacity, while toning your core muscles. This intermediate/advanced workout combines 45 minutes of cardiovascular conditionning followed by 15 minutes of core training.

A challenging type of training that alternates brief periods of intense exercise with brief periods of recovery. A great way to maximize endurance, calorie burning, and muscle toning as it involves full-body exercises with the occasional aid of lightweight equipment. All levels welcome.

This total body workout has a cardio component to help improve cardiovascular fitness as well as a muscle toning component which includes exercises for abs, back, glutes, arms and legs. Suitable for all levels.


A dynamic, full body workout suitable for all fitness levels, that simultaneously combines stretching and strengthening while engaging all 650 muscles. This class will increase flexibility and mobility for a healthy, toned and pain-free body. Suitable for all levels.

This class involves training through functional, fundamental and controlled movements in order to improve overall strength and tone muscles. For all levels.

Build strength, increase energy, and improve posture, flexibility, core stability and range of motion. This class offers a wide variety of non-stressful exercises in combination with specific breathing and relaxation techniques for all levels.

A fusion class of pilates and dynamic, classical stretching that delivers a full-body workout. We use both standing and floor work to help increase mobility in every joint, ease aches, and increase circulation and flexibility. There is a lot of movement in every stretch sequence.
We then strengthen the core with safe but effective abdominal exercises.

Stroller fitness is a full-body workout that includes cardio intervals, strength training, core work, and flexibility training. This course is open to all fitness levels. Women who want to join this class should be 6+ weeks postpartum.

The ultimate high intensity interval training which incoporates cardio and strength training exercises in 20 second intervals. The perfect way to obtain maximum benefits in a short period of time.

This class focuses on functional fitness while incorporating your mind, body and spirit. Discover the benefits of yoga with stretching exercises, poses, postures and breathing techniques. Improve your strength, flexibility, posture as well as your balance.

We start with breathing techniques. A dynamic warm-up for the shoulders, back and hips. We continue with a sun salutation flow at a quicker pace. Several poses will be practiced.
Some balance work & inversion poses are incorporated.
The class ends with a guided meditation and relaxation.

Burn calories while having a blast! Zumba fitness classes incorporate Latin and International dance steps to music (salsa, samba, and meringue) for a fun cardiovascular and muscular workout.
