Discover emili.pet
With emili.pet, registering one or more pets can be done online in just a few clicks! Simple and fast, the application allows you to create a profile for your pet, link the pet to its owner and store in one place all relevant information such as its health record or microchip details.
One-time setup: once your pet’s profile is created, you’ll only need to pay the annual licensing fee going forward.
While we encourage residents to join emili.pet, it remains optional for now. To assist seniors or individuals who are less comfortable with technology, we offer help in creating their profile: simply submit the usual paper form, available at City Hall, and complete the payment either in person at City Hall (cash, debit, credit, or cheque) or by mailing a cheque.
You can report a lost dog or cat directly on emili.pet. By subscribing to notifications, you will receive an email alert if your lost pet is reported within a five-kilometre radius of the last known location.
If you report your pet as lost through your emili.pet dashboard, the pet owner’s name and phone numbers will be displayed. This will make it easier for anyone who finds the lost pet to contact the owner.
No need to replace the tag each year, as it remains valid for its lifetime; you only need to pay the licensing fee, which is $25 annually for a dog, $10 every three years for a neutered cat, and $20 every three years for a non neutered cat. A broken or lost tag can be replaced for a $5 fee.
The tag has a diameter of 25 mm, a thickness of 5 mm, weighs just a few grams, and is designed to be durable enough to last a pet’s lifetime.
The tag is equipped with a microchip, similar to those in credit cards, which contains a unique link to the pet. This link holds your pet’s profile, including its name, color, tag number, and breed. The microchip is passive and does not emit any signals. To read the chip’s content, simply bring a device compatible with NFC technology close to the tag. The reader will power the chip and read it automatically. All smartphones support this technology.
When registering, you create a profile for your pet by providing its name, breed, color, and weight. The profile can also include details from the pet’s health record, such as vaccination dates, microchip information, allergies, as well as past and upcoming veterinary appointments.
Pay the annual fees online using a smartphone, computer, or tablet. It is also possible to pay in person at City Hall (cash, debit, credit, or cheque), or by mailing a cheque.
Emili.pet offers an annual renewal reminder service so you don’t forget! An email will be sent to the owner one month before the renewal date each year.
Whether it’s for registration, a forgotten password, or assistance with navigation, support is available by phone at 1-800-937-0478 or by email at support@emili.net.
