The Supplemental Pension Plan for Employees of the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux (the “Plan”) is seeking an independent member to serve on its Pension Committee.
The role of the Pension Committee is to provide for the management of the pension fund and the day-to-day administration of the Plan. As such, the members of the Pension Committee have a fiduciary responsibility and assume the duties of an administrator of the property of others. To fulfill its role, the Committee shall:
The Pension Committee shall include an independent member and he or she shall be appointed by the Pension Committee. The independent member’s responsibilities are the same as those of the other members of the Pension Committee, as set out below.

Composition
The Pension Committee currently consists of 15 members, including, in addition to the independent member to be appointed, five (5) members appointed by the City and nine (9) members appointed by the members, four (4) of whom are non-voting members.
NUMBER AND LOCATION OF ANNUAL MEETINGS
There are normally three (3) to four (4) Pension Committee meetings per year, which last approximately two hours. Committee members are also invited to attend the Fall Members’ Meeting. Pension Committee meetings are held at City Hall or by video conference. These are usually held on Thursday mornings, with an Annual General Meeting held late on a Monday end of day in October.
COMPENSATION
The independent member shall receive compensation for each meeting of the Pension Committee attended. His compensation is set by the Pension Committee and is currently $400 per meeting.
TERM OF OFFICE
The term of office for members of the Pension Committee shall be three (3) years, with the possibility of renewal. The date of commencement of the term will depend on the date of appointment.
