Job Description

Reporting to the Division Head – Engineering and as project manager, you manage, control and coordinate all your section’s activities related to the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux’s building stock, including all renovation and new construction work, as well as energy efficiency maintenance and improvement.

Team-oriented, your challenges will include, among others:

  • Assisting in the management of construction, renovation and facility improvement projects.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate activities and work plans related to the execution of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, janitorial, painting and roofing repairs, renovations and maintenance work on municipal buildings and other similar equipment;
  • Manage annual contracts related to building operations and follow up on contractual obligations;
  • Manage the administrative aspects of building operations, including phased accounting, requisitioning and receiving;
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities within the planning framework, ensuring that they are carried out in an efficient and timely manner;
  • Supervise day-to-day operations to ensure smooth running of facilities and user satisfaction;
  • Coordinate and distribute work to the team under your supervision;
  • Plan annual operational work, including closing and opening of seasonal facilities (pools, arenas, etc.);
  • Participate in drafting tender documents for real estate operations and projects;
  • Participate in the optimization of operational processes;
  • Participate in the rotational on-call service in the building division;

Qualifications required

Profile:

  • Undergraduate degree in construction engineering, building engineering, architecture or any other discipline relevant to the job;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or relevant professional order
  • Two to five years’ relevant experience in the field of employment
  • Ability to draw up technical specifications
  • Technical knowledge of the building industry
  • Knowledge and application of occupational health and safety standards would be an asset
  • Experience in personnel management in a unionized environment would be an asset
  • Bilingualism in French and English;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Employment status

Benefits and salary:

 

  • 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday
  • 13 public holidays and 2 additional days off between Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • 49 hours of sick and personal leave
  • 35 hours of floating holidays
  • Supplementary defined-benefit pension plan (equal contributions by the employer and participants)
  • Generous group insurance benefits, including health and dental insurance, and salary insurance
  • Access to a training room, library and lunch-hour sports activities
  • 2024 salary range from $85,370 to $110,982
  • Start date : As soon as possible
