On 13 and 16 February, the Montreal region received an impressive 74 cm of snow in the space of 3 days, making it very difficult to get around.
Faced with this exceptional situation, the City’s snow removal teams responded quickly and professionally. Around twenty employees were mobilised, working tirelessly to clear the roads, sidewalks and essential access points. Thanks to their commitment, the streets were cleared of snow 100% in the space of 4 days and the sidewalks in the space of 7 days, a record time given the scale of the storms.
This success was due above all to exceptional teamwork. What’s more, the involvement of residents played a key role: by respecting the parking instructions, they facilitated the work of the snow removal team and speeded up the return to normal.
Despite the challenges posed by this exceptional storm, the speed and efficiency of the operations once again demonstrated the skill and dedication of the snow removal teams. A colossal task accomplished in record time, ensuring a return to normal conditions as quickly as possible. A huge thank you to all those who worked so hard to keep our City safe and running smoothly despite this extraordinary weather!
This week, the widening of streets in residential areas and the clearing of catch basins is continuing ahead of the rain forecast for Wednesday.
