Good news! Even though the City of Montreal has stopped its mobile household hazardous waste (HHW) collection, the city is implementing a solution to help you dispose of your waste responsibly.

Mark your calendars: a special collection will take place on Saturday, May 30! It’s the perfect time to do a big clean-up and take concrete action to help the environment.

On this day, you may bring the following materials:

  • Household hazardous waste (HHW): aerosols, paint, solvents, chemicals, etc.
  • Expanded polystyrene protective packaging (Styrofoam). This includes packaging for furniture and electronic devices, which does not go in the blue bin.
  • Confidential documents for shredding (maximum of three boxes per address)

Please note: Some materials will no longer be collected in the same way as in previous years, but simple alternatives are available:

  • Old electronic devices can be dropped off at any time at our drop-off location at 100 Glenmore Street, open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Household cooling appliances can be picked up directly at your doorstep upon request via the GoRecycle website
  • Tires can be dropped off at an auto service center such as Canadian Tire

Consult the “Special collections” page of our website for a complete list of accepted materials or ask our Chatbot AMI.

Date: Saturday, May 30 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Location: Civic Centre’s P3 parking lot (Lake street entrance)

The collection of HHW and more is exclusively for residents of Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Proof of residence will be required upon entry to the site
