The city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux invites its residents to take part in a public consultation aimed at developing its first cultural policy. The purpose of this participatory process is to gather the ideas, needs and aspirations of the population and cultural stakeholders, in order to design a policy rooted in local reality and representative of our community.
Why a cultural policy?
A cultural policy defines the role of culture within the city. It guides future actions, values existing initiatives, supports artistic and cultural development, and reflects the vision of elected officials regarding culture. It is a structuring tool that mobilizes the entire community around a common project.
By adopting this policy, the city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux will be able to join the Cultural Development Agreement Program (PEDC) of the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications, and benefit from financial support to implement concrete cultural actions in its community.
