Who is Joannie Lafrenière?
Trained in journalism and photography, Joannie has spent the past 15 years developing a practice that blends photography, documentary film, relational art, and visual arts — all guided by human connection. As a photographer, her work has been featured in museums, galleries, and renowned publications. As a filmmaker, her previous films including Gabor (2021) and King Lajoie (2019) have been broadcast on television, screened in cinemas, and showcased at various Canadian and international festivals.
