The Dollard-des-Ormeaux public library was honored tonight to receive the Denis-Vaugeois Excellence Award at the very first Prix des bibliothèques publiques du Québec Gala.
This award recognizes the excellence of improvement projects realized since 2019 in public libraries. The City’s library distinguished itself in several evaluation criteria such as the improvement of the client experience, overall quality of the project, design functionality, “wow” factor and effort made for sustainable development.
The library offers itself as a third place for our residents, after home and office, with almost double its seating, thanks to the new mezzanine and the expansion of the youth section. The improvements made include, to name a few, an area dedicated for teens, four study rooms, a computer lab which offers technology workshops, and an access to the revamped outdoor garden area.
“The comfort and well-being of every single library’s users, from youngest to oldest, as well as the variety and quality of services offered were at the heart of this project. And I am proud to say that we have fully met these objectives!” declares Mayor Alex Bottausci.
The City is indeed proud to offer such a modern, spacious, updated and inclusive space for its resident, one that is officially recognized and honoured for its excellence!
