The City of Montreal’s Water Department will be temporarily shutting down a 600 mm drinking water pipe connected to the City of Pointe-Claire’s reservoir. This work may result in a water pressure drop or a temporary water cut in some areas of the City on April 9, 2024.

In addition, these manipulations may result in the presence of coloured water in the water system. If the water is coloured (yellow or rusty), simply let the cold water run in your bathtub for 30 minutes to 1 hour and the water should become clear. If the coloured water persists, please contact the Public Works Department. It is recommended to verify the state of water before initiating washing cycles.

Note that even if coloured, the water remains potable and safe for consumption. The affected area is shown on the plan below.
