UPDATE JUNE 26, 12 p.m. :

The air quality has greatly improved, and it’s now possible to return to organized outdoor activities, including sports activities (swimming pools, sports fields, etc.) and outdoor activities for municipal day camps.

____________________

We wish to inform you that due to high concentrations of fine particles in the air, Dollard-des-Ormeaux’s pools and sports fields will be temporarily closed until further notice. This measure is intended to ensure the safety of residents.

High concentrations of fine particles in the air can have harmful effects on our health. We therefore recommend that you follow the advice of the Direction régionale de la santé publique de Montréal (DRSP) to reduce your risk of exposure to smoke and take the necessary measures to protect your health:

  • Limit your outdoor activity. Postpone unnecessary tasks for another period or reduce them as much as possible.
  • Close windows, doors, garage doors and all other building air intakes, weather permitting.
  • DO NOT recirculate air in a building.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience, but the health and well-being of our community is our priority. We sincerely thank you for your understanding. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

An update on the situation will be provided tomorrow.
