Since 1 March 2025, ALL plastic drinks containers between 100 ml and 2 litres have been subject to a deposit. This includes plastic bottles of water, sparkling water, juice, milk and spirits!
As this is the first week of operation for this extended deposit system and some return points, material recovery capacity may vary from site to site.
Why return containers?
Consigning your beverage containers is a real step in the right direction for the environment. Sorting beverage containers by material ensures optimum recovery.
The deposit system is more efficient than any other material recovery method, because all beverage containers recovered are 100% recycled. The return of containers by citizens is also a way of fighting climate change by reducing the need to extract raw materials to manufacture new beverage containers.
Where to return your returnable beverage containers?
There are 3 possibilities:
1- Zone Consignaction : retailers, convenience stores and grocery stores where this system was already in place (return of single containers).
2- Consignaction, a boutique-type area (return of single containers and express return of unsorted beverage containers)
3- Consignaction +, boutique-type area (return of single containers, express return of unsorted beverage containers and bulk return of unsorted containers)
