Inclusion at the heart of our actions
The Quebec week for people with disabilities, from June 1 to 7, 2026, marks 30 years of commitment and mobilization in Quebec. This annual event highlights the importance of taking action to improve the social participation of people with disabilities and aims to recognize their full potential.
In Dollard-des-Ormeaux, inclusion is reflected in concrete everyday actions. Through its services, facilities and initiatives, the City is committed to creating accessible environments and reducing barriers to participation for everyone:
- Online: Our website features a dedicated page for people with disabilities, bringing together resources, available services and useful information.
- Accessible recreation: Among other things, we offer the free loan of an aquatic wheelchair to enjoy water play in our parks’ splash pads, as well as a lugiglace – a skating aid to enjoy our arenas (see images below).
- Facilities designed for everyone: Universal accessibility is integrated into new municipal buildings to ensure inclusive spaces starting from the design phase.
- Tailored support: The Vulnerable and Disabled Persons Registry helps ensure better support, particularly in emergency situations.
And to go even further…
Because continuous improvement relies on listening, we invite residents to share their suggestions and feedback on accessibility in the city.
