Working Group on the Marché de l’Ouest

Share

Following the adoption of the Urban Planning Program in May 2025, the City is launching a new participatory process to reflect on the future of the Marché de l’Ouest. This initiative includes the creation of a working group bringing together residents of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Market merchants, site owners, as well as City representatives. Inclusive and dialogue-based, it aims to foster a shared understanding and collectively guide the future of the Marché, while recognizing its importance to the community.

To moderate discussions and ensure an impartial and objective process, the working group will be facilitated by an independent facilitator.

The working group’s discussions will take place in a setting that encourages open dialogue, and may be subject to certain confidentiality rules when necessary. The recommendations made by the working group will be submitted to City Council, and the conclusions will be presented to the public.

Mandate of the Working Group

  1. The mandate of the working group is to make recommendations regarding the future of the Marché de l’Ouest, taking into account the needs, concerns, and interests of all involved parties.
  2. At the end of its mandate, the group will present its recommendations to the City Council of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, and the conclusions will be shared with the public.

  3. Participation in the working group is on a voluntary basis and without remuneration.
